I can still remember my first ever inflatable stand-up paddle board. For me, at that time, it was the best paddle board. But as time passes by, my needs and requirements for a stand-up paddle board grew as I focused my attention on improving my skills.
It was a classic case of my board not being able to grow with me and as I gained more experience I was looking for more. Since those early days leading me to find a much more appropriate paddle board, I've learned that the types and variant of the newer style of inflatable paddle boards are becoming as fluid as the ocean.
As I was looking for my next purchase, I was able to look in details and test out several of the newer lines of inflatable paddle boards. And, as with my surfing, I thought; why not help others cut out all the time consuming research time as well?
With that in mind, I've put together the following thorough guide for people like me who are looking for not only the best deals available today, but also require more detail on the range and types of inflatable stand up paddel boards on the market. My hope is that, if you are new to the sport, this guide can help you fast track towards learning everything you need to know when it comes to selecting the right inflatable paddle boards for you.

If this is your first time to buy your inflatable stand-up paddle board, then you might find the sheer range on offer a little intimidating. I know I did, which turned out to be a big reason behind putting this comprehensive guide together.
Although it is true that buying decisions in this increasingly popular sport can be challenging, I'm here to tell you that it will be all worth it in the end, once you get out onto the water with your new paddle board you'll be glad of this time finding out which one was the most appropriate for your needs.
Whilst it's not possible to cover every paddle board out there today, in this guide, I have included 7 packages that, in my opinion, are worth giving some serious consideration towards. During my own research I was able to experience most of these boards first-hand. As for the others, I tried my best to get acquainted with them by spending a lot of time consuming as much information on each model as I could find. I'm going to try to pass on as many details as I can that will, I hope, help you choose the best paddle board investment for you and your family's needs. Even so, it is wise for you to keep in mind that no product is perfect, and while each of these boards present excellent all round packages, there will always be one or two drawbacks which I've tried to reflect in the disadvantages section for each paddle board reviewed here.
If you're the kind of person to whom appearance plays an important role in your buying decisions, then the iROCKER Cruiser Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Package might already be the best paddle board for you as this board and the accessories included in whole package color match!

iROCKER Cruiser is a very popular brand of inflatable stand-up paddle boards and for good reason. They have been in the industry for quite some time producing different kinds of stand-up paddle boards, and have learned lessons taken away form the early days of the sport when it was beginning to take off.
Even though the company’s product range is quite wide, they have become increasingly well-known for their growing line of inflatable boards. In fact, they are seen as one of the top rated brands of inflatable stand-up paddle boards in recent times.
The company is based in Florida, so have the advantage of being able to take to the water at a moments notice year round. All of their designs and engineering methods are US based and remain located in the Florida region, making them truly a local brand. It's also worth noting that all of their products come with a 2-year warranty, including all parts and repairs, so they've got a lot of confidence in their own products, also reflected in the 30-day money-back guarantee they offer.
The iROCKER Cruiser Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board uses a high-quality military grade of PVC as its main material. Layered on top of this they have included a quad-layer PVC material that runs across the surface of this board.
And because of these materials, this board is seen as one of the most durable and rigid types available among the inflatable stand up paddle boards available today.
In addition, the iRocker Cruiser Inflatable is equipped with a crocodile texture diamond groove traction surface. This material provides the users with a much greater grip and stability, so you can keep a steady stance even when there are waves around and conditions start to get a bit choppy.
On my part, this traction surface definitely worked and I found it really effective. Not just on the flat when conditions were glassy, this gave me the confidence to take it out into some (admittedly small) waves and the rigidity actually allowed me to catch a couple - which was a first for me in terms of stand up paddle boarding!
This inflatable stand-up paddle board from iRocker Cruiser has a total dimension of 10.6 feet x 33 inches x 6 inches. This means that the overall length of the board is rated 10.6 feet which would make it long enough for racing activities should your needs progress.
As for the width, it is measured at 33 inches which is quite wide, though increasingly in-line with the direction that inflatable paddle boards being produced today are moving in. Hence, it is safe to say that this SUP can really some great stability, which in turn males for a comfortable ride.
When you check the actual board, you will see a lot of iRocker parts equipped on it. These types of equipment include the bungee cargo storage, the center carrying handle, the rear grab handle, the ankle leash D-ring, and the shoulder strap mounting.
Users have the option as well to incorporate the board with Kayak seat. This is because the iRocker Cruiser features an optional seat located next to the shoulder strap mounting. While you may not want to use it yourself, in the long run this board could act as an introduction to SUP'ing for those friends/family that might not want to actually stand up.
In terms of its fins, this features a 2 plus 1 fin setup. The two small side fins are already equipped on the board, while the one large fin that is located in the back center is removable.
The overall weight is around 25 pounds. This is not too heavy nor too light for this type of paddle board. That said, it can carry a total weight up to 400 pounds, which is pretty impressive!
With all these features and functions this is looking like the best choice for intermediate level users, though it will certainly grow with beginners. While the board is quite durable and versatile, it includes features that paddle boarders increasing their skill level will appreciate as they progress.
For a price that falls just a little under $700, the iRocker Cruiser Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board is quite expensive. However, if you consider all of the functions, specifications, and additional features included in the package, you'll quickly realize that the price is appropriate.
But even so, if you are a beginner and you would just like to try things out and see if you like it, I suggest there are other inflatable stand up paddle boards that might be a better fit. You may want to try a more beginner-friendly board that will really help build your confidence rather than compliment your existing skills.
Nevertheless, if you do buy this you will get to enjoy the whole package without having to splash out extra on accompanying accessories (and did I say it all color-matches?) If fact one of the things that sold this to me most was the whole package and the fact that it features a complete set of inclusions for everything you might need. Moreover, each one of these accessories is also made from durable materials and really matches the quality and finish of the board itself. This is one of the key things I consider when choosing the best inflatable SUP board packages of today, as sometimes the quality of the accessory package can be lacking.
As you unwrap the packaging, you'll find the ankle safety leash, adjustable paddle, dual-action hand pump (which I must say - iROCKER did a great job here!), a repair kit, and a storage backpack carry bag.
If you are on a bit of a budget and looking for a great paddle board that won't break the bank, the Goplus Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Thick Package might be for you!
Rated by: Thomas
Goplus is another of today’s most popular brands, though is positioned more at the lower (dare I say budget) end of the market. The main thing that makes these guys famous, for better or worse, is the affordability of their paddle boards. Let’s face it, these SUP boards are not particularly cheap, and if you want to get out there and show off your paddling skills you will really need to shell out a few hundred bucks.
Accordingly, Goplus has held a unique vision when it comes to enjoying the hobby of stand up paddle boarding: they believe that everyone should enjoy this kinds of activity, and that water sports should be accessible to all. This is, clearly, commendable, and as a result Goplus has opened up the sport to many more people who otherwise would have been turned off by the high entry costs.
With products this affordable, it is the reason why you would see a lot of beginners and entry-level users out paddling on Goplus paddle boards.
Even if they sell their boards at comparatively affordable prices, I've spend a good amount of time on Goplus boards and found that the quality is not too far below that of the higher level brands.
This is largely due to Goplus using mainly Dropstitch technology and EVA in its core and structure of it's Inflatable SUP Thick board's. These materials enable Goplus to keep costs under control, while the board remains very rigid and stays (relatively) frictionless out on the water.
If you ask me, I believe that Goplus remain true to their words and this isn't just a marketing ploy, their vision feels legit. My recent experience with this board has been quite intensive, with some heavy usage by myself and a few friends, all of whom agreed it a great fun entry-level board to splash around on.
Unfortunately we chose a fairly rocky location the location, and, well - accidents do happen - my friend paddled up against some rocks at one point. He's fine, though came away with a few scratches. Though, surprisingly, nothing happened to the paddle board - which is one of the highest recommendations I can give!
The Goplus SUP board has a total dimension of 10 feet x 30 inches x 6 inches. And these figures are fairly standard for a beginner’s stand-up paddle board.
It's rated at 18 pounds, which makes it pretty light for a normal inflatable paddle board. The total load that it can carry reaches up to 265 pounds, maximum. But, I take this factor as one of the drawbacks of the product.
Having said that, this could still be the best inflatable stand up paddle board for you, especially if you're starting out and the concerns regarding the weight ratings do not apply to you.
Now, the fin setup of this from Goplus is a 2 plus 1 system. The two small fins are located on the sides with a removable single large fin. Hence, users can freely adjust the fins according to their skill level, chosen water conditions, and scheduled water activity.
Versatility is not as high in this inflatable stand-up paddle board. It is because it has less features to support different watersports and activities such as include yoga and touring. But in the end, this board for newbie users and if that's you, for this price I highly recommend it.
The price of this package falls below $250, making the Goplus one of the most inexpensive paddle boards on the market today.
In addition, the package contains most essential tools that you will need. These include the adjustable and extendable paddle, manual pump, and a repair kit. All you will need to purchase separately is the ankle leash (you really need it).
If you are looking for sup that can also support your kayaking activities, then you may want to check the Hydro-Force White Cap Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard SUP package.

By and large, Bestway is one of the greenest brands in the watersports industry. They largely support the use of green materials in every region they operate in. And this is why all of their watersports products come with technologies and materials that have minimal impact and not harmful to the environment.
Perhaps because of this, Bestway has grown to become a popular name in the industry, though it helps, of course, that their offers tend to be quite affordable too. But while affordability is is a factor, build quality remains great according to its many users and customers.
And due to their apparent transparency in build process and materials, they've built a loyal customer base of stand up paddle boarders who are drawn to their products.
The Hydro-Force line of boards is actually the best seller in Bestway’s product range, and I can see why. After hearing so much about it I was really keen to check these paddle boards out.
As I have mentioned above, the materials that Bestway use in their paddle boards tend to be as green as possible, from what I can see. This means that these materials when in used in their build process should have a minimal impact on their surrounding environment. This is mostly achieved by using recycled PVC as a key ingredient in making their paddle boards.
If you are knowledgeable about these things (which I'll admit, I'm not), then you'll know that PVC is not a very friendly material to the environment. When this stuff piles up in an area or gets buried underground in landfill, it becomes really harmful as a type 4 plastic. This means we need to be recycling as much of this material as possible.
Bestway aims to decrease the number of unused PVC getting dumped by incorporating 2 layers of laminated recycled PVC in their boards, along with the polyester mesh core. The company also uses a dropstitch technology in each construction of their paddle boards.
And because of these materials and and company vision, I take the Bestway Hydro-Force White Cap Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard as one of the best products available to environmentally conscious paddle boarders.
This could also be the best for you if you are looking for a thin and lightweight board to use in the water, with the dimensions of this board at just 10 feet x 32 inches x 4 inches.
If you are to check its width, it is rated at 32 inches which is still wide enough for most users. This makes it great as a beginner board for those who are still learning how to balance their stance on the board in water.
However, due to its thin construction, it can only support up to 209 pounds of total load. So this could be challenging for people who have large body frames and are heavier.
Personally, I take it as one of the downsides of this inflatable paddle board. This is because I am not really a petite type of person. It feels to me that you should be either a younger user, or be really thin and lightweight if you want to put this board through its paces in your watersports and activities.
One of the premium features of the Bestway Hydro-Force White Cap Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard is its three highly adjustable fins. The fin setup of this board is the popular 2 plus 1 system. The two fins are located on the sides of the board and the other one is located on the center back.
In addition, there is a footrest and a seat detach included. These parts are highly adjustable and removable. So, if you are looking forward to having a kayaking adventure as well as SUP'ing, then this is going to be the best option for you.
For a price that falls under $275, you have a pretty decent and versatile inflatable stand-up paddle board. Also, you get the standard accompanying accessories that are included inside the package, including the manual air pump, aluminum oar, travel bag, gauge, and best of all; the detachable kayak seat.
But while it is very affordable, there are no paddles or leashes included. So you're going to need to shell out again on these products on top of the main purchase if you are to buy this package.
Nevertheless, the quality of the overall package along with its accessories may still satisfy your preferences. If you are a petite-type of beginner, this could be the best for you. Though lets not forget this is a SUP/kayak transformer, which is a great dual-use case!
If speed is what you are looking for, then the Tower Wide Stance Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board might be the one for you!
Rated by: Thomas
Tower Paddle Boards produce a wide range of stand-up paddle boards. Whether you are looking for the one that will fit a lower budget or opting for a much more high-end package, their product lines probably has something to fit the bill.
In recent times, they have been rated as one of the most competitive paddle board brands due to the sheer variation of their product lines. Also, their somewhat unique direct-to-consumer selling approach has proven to become very effective.
The company is headquartered in San Diego, California. Which is a pretty great location given the sheer numbers of surfers and paddle board users clustered in that area. So it's a great testing ground for them to try out new products, which they seem to be releasing all the time.
Now, the TOWER Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Universal SUP Wide Stance belongs in the middle to high-end range of paddle boards, and this is because the materials used in its construction are of the finest qualities. Which is also one of the reasons why I take inflatable stand up paddle board out more than even the epoxy board I own, its just fun!
The core of this paddle board uses a high military grade of PVC which is very durable and rigid. In fact, I’ve seen it splashed through rocks dragged across coarse sand, but it did not obtain any scratches or dents. Hence, this is one board where you can really rely on its durability and stability.
TOWER also uses a Dropstitch technology in every piece they manufacture, which adds to the rigidity and stability of the board. Moreover, this features a soft top non-slip surface. So users can really practice their balancing positions in very safe conditions without slipping around.
This paddle board features a high-rated and Tower branded diamond groove deck pad providing an essential grippy surface if you are practicing furthering your skills when it comes to paddling, riding, and even catching some waves.
This stand up paddle board from Tower Paddle Boards is marketed as one of the widest boards on the market today. While its actual dimension are fairly similar in width to the other types of paddle boards reviewed here, the shape of this board really lends itself to riders who prefer a wider stance.
Dimension-wise this board comes in at 10.4 feet x 32 inches x 6 inches. While 32 inches in width is already wider than most paddle boards, it's not as groundbreakingly wide assome of the marketing of this board suggests. Even so, it is still a great board for beginners and intermediates alike, opening up a wide range of stance opportunities.
The length of this board again puts it above most average paddle boards, at least in this list. I take that as a good point for this board and consider it as a key factor to consider when reviewing the best inflatable stand up paddle board's available in 2019.
As for the fin setup, the TOWER Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Universal SUP Wide Stance board has a single fin setup. This big center fin is the one that is largely responsible for its fast speed and efficient maneuverability.
This board is convenient and easy to use. Many beginners utilize this board's width for their practice and further training. However, in my own perspective, this board is much more fitting for intermediate level users, with a shape that lends itself to more advanced activities such as yoga.
However, bear in mind with the quality materials this is not a lightweight paddle board. The overall weight of this board is rated at 38 pounds, and it can carry a total weight of up to 400 pounds. These are some very impressive figures!
As mentioned, the TOWER Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Package is one of the company’s higher-end types of boards. The price is actually just below $600 which is pretty expensive, but seems about right for a board of this quality. In my view this board stands above most inflatable paddle-boards around today.
For this price, you will also get to enjoy the included extendable fiberglass paddle, high-pressure SUP pump, hand-hold strap, and the carrying strap.
And all of these accessories are made from high-quality materials as well. The quality of the whole package is why this paddle board made it to my list of the best inflatable stand up paddle board deals in 2019.
The best inflatable SUP board for me should be versatile, and the ISLE Airtech Inflatable All Around Stand Up Paddle Board makes this list having grown a somewhat legendary status as the "take it anywhere" iSUP.

Isle is another of the most prominent paddle board brands you'll find, having been aorund in the market for quite some time now. Their time in the industry has led to a delivery of many different kinds of paddle boards that can support lots of types of watersports and activities.
Although it is not very advisable for complete beginners to jump into their products because of the somewhat expensive costs, many are still keen to invest in and utilize these paddle boards just because of the name that the Isle brand has made for itself. However, if you are a more advanced level users who's spent a lot of time in the water then you will be well aware of Isle products and no doubt used one of their boards at some point. This is a company with a laser focus on the quality and versatility of their paddle board products.
As per the company’s engineering teams, Isle believes that watersports are no longer simple activities, and devlop tech to advance the sport as much as possible. This tends to be true for all regions and countries in todays world of stand up paddle boarding, which is why they want to deliver paddle boards that can provide different functionalities to their customers.
The Isle Airtech Inflatable All Around Stand Up Paddle Board is seen as one of today’s best paddle boards in the market because the board is not only versatile, but it is extremely durable as well.
The durability and rigidity of the paddle board is due to the grade of the materials used in its construction. The main materials include multiple high grade military PVC layers and features Airtech Lite technology in its rail treading. This technology helps to enhance the rigidity and durability of the board.
In addition, the surface of this board has sets of brushed EVA traction giving your feet a much more comfortable setting. The is really effective in preventing you from slipping, especially when the paddle board surface is already wet.
The overall dimension of this paddle board is rated at 10.6 feet x 31 inches x 6 inches. As you can see, the length of this board is quite long making it appropriate for all types of watersports and activities. Whether you are aiming for a gentle fishing session or even a racing activity, this paddle board can support most of your watersports needs.
As for its width, it is also pretty wide which is fitting for beginners who want to learn how to manage and use a paddle board. It is also great for yoga routines. But, as I have mentioned, this paddle board is perhaps not the most ideal board for beginners who just want to see if they like it before taking up the sport, especially if you do not have any real intention of enhancing your skills.
Even so, if you are committed to doing a lot of practicing and intend to use it for different kinds of watersports and activities then this could still be one of the best inflatable stand up paddle-board for entry-level users prepared to make the fairly significant initial investment.
The overall weight of the Isle Airtech All Around iSUP is around 21 pounds. And if you ask me, this is very impressive since the materials used in its construction are quite heavy on their own.
However, the total weight that it can carry is only around 240 pounds. Anything beyong that can cause the paddle board to sit lower in the water and lose some of its stability. So, I am taking its carrying weight feature as one of the drawbacks.
The fin setup here is another 2 plus 1 system, though keep in mind that they are not adjustable or removable. These effective fins can provide enough traction, and I can vouch for this having tried this board several times. All I can say is that these fins make the paddle board easy to maneuver and corner.
Users will enjoy the center grab handle, high-pressure valve, nose handle, front bungee, and tail-mounted D-rings. Interestingly, there is a snap-in fin in the middle of the board that makes turning a breeze.
The price of the ISLE Airtech All Around Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board iSUP package is rated below $800.
I would consider this a fairly expensive set-up, which is why I would recommend for you to check other paddle boards if you intend to use it less than 5 times a year.
But while the package is expensive, it is still one of the the best inflatable stand up paddle boards on the market today. The overall package includes the travel paddle, snap-in fin, air pump, travel backpack, gauge, leash, and the repair kit.
If you are looking for a very lightweight Sup, then you may want to check the Ancheer iSUP package because this has the lightest weight among all the boards in this list.
Rated by: Thomas
Ancheer is actually a sports brandthat are not only focused on inflatable surf boards. In fact, they tend to cover a large range of outdoor sports.
But since we are here talking about paddle boards, its worth noting that Ancheer has become one of the most competitive brands in todays the surfing and SUP industry. Their paddle boards are great for all types of skill levels.
Although the company is not largely well-known for their paddle boards, they are still seen as a great manufacturer of a variety of different water sports, accessories and gear.
The Ancheer Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board mainly uses 0.9mm of Military Grade PVC. In the surfing and paddling industry, this material is deemed as the most durable, so you may expect the real deal in the durability of this overall package, despite its relatively cheap price.
Aside from the military grade PVC, this also uses the same Dropstitch Technology as most other paddle boards in this list, which works to further enhance the overall rigidity and durability of the board.
Though it's also worth noting that here the Dropstitch Technology is also used throughout the boards interior, making it somewhat unique in comparison to most paddle boards being constructed at the moment.
As mentioned before, if you are looking for a very lightweight paddle board, this is definitely the best option for you. The Ancheer Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board has a total weight of 16.9 pounds, which is a surprisingly low number considering the overall dimensions of the paddle board.
The overall dimensions of this paddle board is rated at 10 feet x 30 inches x 6 inches. And with these ratings, it is safe to say that it fits in with the standard board type that is great for both beginners and intermediate level users.
However, the biggest drawback that I find about this is, as with some of the other boards, it can only support up to 240 pounds of total weight and load. This is very low considering the dimensions.
Even so, this could still be the best inflatable stand up paddle board for you if you look beyond this factor. But it's just something that should be rememberedfor people that might have a large frame.
In terms of its fins, the setup again utilizes the popular 2 plus 1 system, making this inflatable board very manageable, especially for beginners. The two side fins are already equipped in the paddle board, with the single large fin removable and adjustable. And this is a factor to consider if you are planning to advance your skills.
The package comes with a full 1-year warranty term including all parts and accessories. Also, consumers are given a 30-day money-back guarantee in case the board did not meet their satisfaction and standards.
Another thing I like about the Ancheer Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board is that the company has great warranty terms when it comes to their products. Also, the after-sales support is really efficient which, if you need it, is going to be really helpful.
Accordingly, this is one of my reasons why this is the best inflatable stand up paddle board package for most buyers.
It's worth noting that this paddle board is very convenient to inflate and deflate. I tried it out and timed the process. It only took me about 5 minutes to fully inflate the paddle board. As for the deflation, it took me less than 3 minutes to finish the whole setup.
For a price that falls just under $300, this is not bad at all! Especially what you consider that the whole package comes with a complete set of paddling essentials; the extendable paddle, coil leash, common hand pump, travel backpack, and a repair kit.
In my opinion this is a really good deal, one of the best in fact, and if you are a beginner then this is an ideal package for you. Not only that, the Ancheer Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board is compact, portable, and can be adjusted which can help support a number of unique paddling needs.
If you are looking for an inflatable stand-up paddle board that already comes with durable and high quality sets of paddles and accessories, then the Roc Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Premium Package might be the best iSUP board for you.
Rated by: Thomas
If I'm being honest Roc is not yet the best known brand, though this is because the company is still young. But they are quickly making a name for themselves and becoming more and more recognized as a competitive name in the industry. Not least in part due to their recent release of the Roc Premium SUP Package.
The current fame of the Roc is largely caused by this specific model of inflatable paddle board. Given the price point and the premium quality of the materials a lot of watersports enthusiasts have been really looking forward to owning this paddle board.
And aside from the quality of this inflatable paddle board, the durability and paddling efficiency of the accompanying accessories are pretty much on-point, which has basically led to the success of the newcomer product in the market.
The materials used in the construction of this paddle board are almost all military grade, so, you can pretty much assume that this is going to be durable. And based on friends feedback of their experiences with this board, its durability sounds like promising factor.
The surface of the board is equipped with an surprisingly effective tracking pad which makes it soft, smooth, and yet stable. For this reason, I find this paddle board an ideal type for beginners and entry-level users.
The dimension of this paddle board is rated at 10.5 feet x 30 inches x 6 inches. Again this is a fairly standard rating for an average lower end inflatable stand-up paddle board like this. But the length, however, is impressive since it reaches up to 10.5 feet. Surprising for an entry level board like this the length could be fitting for racers and intermediate users, though I'm not sure they would select this brand.
The total weight of the board is pretty lightweight, but not too light so as to lose it's stability int he water. That said, it can carry a load and weight up to 340 pounds, so a wide range of users can really enjoy this board together with their friends and family.
The surface is equipped with an anti-slip deck pad which makes it more appealing to beginners. In fact, this complements the overall width of the board, allowing beginners to enhance their training and practicing sessions with a number of different stances.
In terms of its fins, the Roc Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board uses a 2 plus 1 fin setup. The 2 side fins are not adjustable but the main fin that is located in the middle of the board is removable, hence a decent range of users can manage and control the board, even first-timers.
If you are wondering about the actual inflation and deflation, it will only take 8 to 10 minutes of your time. However, it is going to be a real workout if you use the manual pump. So, if you have back problems or any of the like, I suggest you use a much more convenient automatic pump.
The inflation time is a bit of a drawback for the package. But, even so, I still find the included manual pump efficient. Depending on how much of a glutton for punishment you are, this concern is either an advantage or a drawback. Either way, how much you like manually pumping is largely up to you. I have heard some people consider this to be a workout in itself!
I included this is in my list of the best inflatable stand up paddle board packages of today because of its affordability. though aside from this, the premium feel of the included package inclusions is also a major selling-point.
For below $350 you can have a pretty decent inflatable paddle board here. Also, you will get to have the paddling essentials such as the paddle, hand pump, leash, travel backpack, and the waterproof board casing, the last of which is great at this price point.
When you purchase this package, your inflatable paddle board along with its accessories and parts are entitled to a 1-year limited warranty. Keep in mind that some buyers, including me, take this as a must when choosing an investment like this.
Is this up there with the best inflatable stand up paddle boards? Maybe not. Even so, I see the Roc Premium SUP as a good package to get people started as a beginner or entry-level users who wants an inexpensive board to practice on and enhance their skills. Also, it is perfect for people who just want to have their own paddle board that they will be using infrequently just for entertainment purposes.
The concept inflatable SUP is a brilliant idea and has changed the way the sport is enjoyed by tens of thousands of people. This is because you need not worry about carrying it, even in small cars or on an airplane. It can be easily carried in a backpack and transported around, which is very convenient for people from all walks of life who might otherwise be put off by dragging a huge and heavy traditional epoxy stand up paddle board around.
And these things are pretty much given already, you know this and and that's why you are here; looking for the one that will fulfill your individual paddle boarding needs.
When you're ready to buy your inflatable stand-up paddle board, there are several things you need to consider first. It is important for you to take into regard some of these factors because they can largely affect your buying decision.
Here are the things to consider when choosing for the best inflatable SUP board:
It is important to familiarize yourself with the different brands of stand-up paddle boards when buying your first one.
Some manufacturers make a specific type of paddle board for a certain activity. Ask around. Try to research brands and read reviews online before visiting a physical store or buying online. If you do visit a store, talk to store representatives about the trusted brands, then compare with the information that you have with you.
Also, keep in mind that it might be good to check out the actual product personally, before you make a purchase online.
When choosing the most appropriate board for you, you must ensure that the volume and weight capacity is fitting for your personal height and weight.
The length, width, and thickness are also important because these dimension ratings determine how the paddle board handles in the water, playing an important part in the board’s performance including the overall balance and stability.
Short paddle boards are better for smaller and lighter people. As for the much longer paddle boards, well, they're going to be a better fit for those, a'hem, heavier people.
Deciding on what type of activity you are into is also a factor because there are actually seven types of stand-up paddle boards, though keep in mind that most of these are the traditional hard paddle boards and not so applicable to inflatable boards.
For beginners (but not limited to) the all-around type of paddle board would be the best. It has a rounded nose that is suitable for small waves or just cruising around flat waters including inland lakes.
In addition, it is family-friendly because it is designed for everyone. It can be used by adults and kids, as well as the beginners and intermediate-level users, so is great for getting your family and friends to come and join you.
If you are an athletic person the surfing type of paddle board might be of interest and more applicable to you, especially if you are trying to build strength in your core muscles on choppy waters. This board is less rounded at the nose for a better cut through the waves and choppy waters.
This is the best inflatable stand up paddle board type for people who just want to enjoy the peace and scenery of the lake , or harbours and flat sea conditions, or simply just floating and sunbathing. This board type is largely utilized in calm water conditions and are similar to the functionality and form factor of the all-around stand-up paddle boards.
However, it does not perform well with waves and choppy waters. Even so, other users use it for their yoga sessions and fishing activities. Although, there is an actual paddle board form factor that is intended specifically for yoga and fishing.
This particular board has a stable platform for balancing when performing yoga routines. This is used with a specialize anchor to prevent from drifting. But, you should keep in mind that this anchor is an additional accessory.
So, if you intend to purchase a yoga type of paddle board, you may need to purchase a few additional accessories separately. Or better yet, find a package deal that will already include everything for this unique sport.
There is also a paddle board that is specially made for people who love to go out fishing. Accordingly, the fishing paddle board is a wide flat water board with more deck space to accommodate the fishing gear and accessories.
Normally, these accessories would include a cooler, fishing rods, baskets, and other such fishing essentials.
As for the more advanced paddlers, the best inflatable stand up paddle board type for these people is the racing stand-up paddle board. By and large, these paddle boards are designed for fast and intense races.
And when choosing the right racing stand-up paddle board, it is very important to consider the length, padding ability, width, nose design, and tail shape and rails, all playing a big role in its speed.
The touring SUP is mainly designed for adventurers who love water expeditions. Also, these boards are largely utilized for long distance explorations. They must be stable and versatile that possesses the ability to handle all kinds of water conditions, whether be it flat, choppy, or even in some cases fast flowing rapids.
These boards must be dependable enough to handle all kinds of water conditions because you never know what to expect when in water touring.
The best inflatable stand up paddle board must possess the right strength, stability, and durability. This is because these characteristics are essential factors to bear in mind when choosing your paddle board.
These factors cover the materials used in the structure, the technologies applied, and the features along with the equipment and gear. Accordingly, they all have something to do with your confidence, balance and safety in the water. Every paddle boarder has their own personal preferences in this area, and tends put these on top of their priorities. This is something that just comes with experience.
Look for the best material that is puncture-resistant and built to withstand impacts from solid (or jagged) rocks and concrete. Make sure that it can provide excellent buoyancy, rigidness, and stability. But most importantly, it must provide great performance even in choppy waters and waves, because at some point you will experience these conditions.
Lastly the brand should stand behind its products and offer great warranty terms. Sometimes, you can tell a product’s durability through its warranty. The longer the effectiveness of its warranty, the better because a manufacturer will not issue a lengthy warranty if they are not confident that the product will not last.
Although some consumers disregard the appearance, you must consider the build. While the colors and the overall style of your board may not deliver significant benefits to you, the build quality for sure will.
That said, choosing a bright and vibrant color is a wise choice if ever you get stranded. Having something bright close to you will be a surefire way to help you to be found quickly.
Personally bright colors are like my happy pills! In fact, bright colors have been shown to cheer people up, so there's that.
In addition to the actual appearance, the best inflatable stand up paddle board for you is the one that fits to your needs. When choosing for a paddle board, try to consider your situation, how you will transport it, and where you'll store it when it's not being used.
Choose something lightweight, easy to carry, and easy to inflate and deflate. But, keep in mind that these factors largely depend on your personal preference. Remember, what’s convenient for others may not be convenient for you. So, you are the only one who can really decide for yourself.
All of the inflatable paddle boards that I have included here are all decent, will give people years of pleasure on the water, and are made from excellent materials so your investment will last. But, the one that stands out for me the most is the iROCKER Cruiser Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Package.
Personally, this is the best inflatable stand up paddle board featured here because it is very versatile. It can support my different paddle boarding needs and it's easy to manage in almost every condition that I've encountered.
In addition, the package comes with a complete set of everything you'll need. It is important to note that these accessories are often as important as the board itself. They're the essentials that you will take with you and need every time you head out onto the water
So these accessories are not going to keep up with you if they're poor quality and break easily. And that is the advantage with this package; it saves more in the long run.
Although this package is quite expensive and not the absolute ideal board for beginners, it is best to think of it as an investment if you're really committed to exploring your time, energy, and skills in stand up paddle boarding activities. For me, this is the most appropriate paddle board that can really support needs as they grow.
Finding the best inflatable stand-up paddle board is a challenge, but if you try to consider all the factors listed here you can be fairly sure you will end up with the right paddle board for you.
